Libra Plant uses either a 1.5V or a 3.6V AA lithium battery. For maximum battery life, use a 3.6V battery.
Remove the lid of the Libra Plant device.
For first-time operation, remove the insulator pull-tab.
Ensure that the battery is well seated with correct polarity.
Secure the lid by hand-tightening the screws completely.
An LED light will light up and blink once every 10 seconds. At this point, the device is ready to pair.
Ensure a fresh battery is inserted into the Libra Plant device before each season. Contact your dealer or visit our website for replacement batteries. 12V power cables are also available from Agrimatics for continuous power, eliminating the need for batteries. When on 12V power, the Libra Plant will use the internal battery as a backup power supply

Plant - Device Installation / Mounting
To mount the Libra Plant device, it is recommended that it be installed on the front of the equipment, with a clear line of sight to the Primary Display, and its connectors pointing downward, preferably protected from direct exposure to the elements. Connect the equipment’s load cell junction box cable(s) to the device. If the second weight channel is not being used, cover it with the supplied cap. Secure any excess cable.
12 - Volt Powering Options
If you have a 12-volt vehicle power cable, you can connect it to the device’s power connector. Secure any excess cable. If not, cover the unused power connector with the supplied cap. WARNING: Vehicle battery connection shall be in accordance with all vehicle safety instructions, including 4A SLOW ACTING protective fusing with minimum 20 AWG wiring.

The Libra Plant app is compatible with phones and tablets running iOS 13 or newer and Android version 9 or newer with at least 2GB of RAM.
We recommend a tablet for the primary mobile device in the tractor cab as it has a larger screen and can be easily mounted in the cab. Phones are great for remote displays.
The Libra Plant app uses very little storage space on your mobile device. When choosing a mobile device, the minimum set storage capacity is sufficient; it just depends on what else you want to use it for (photos, movies, music, etc.).

The Primary display stores and displays all of your planting data. Only one mobile device can be the Primary display, which should be the device in the tractor cab attached to the planting equipment.
Pairing is done directly through the Libra Plant app, not through the general smartphone/tablet Bluetooth settings.
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
Bring the mobile device to the Libra Plant device and launch the Libra Plant app.
Select the Settings tab inside the app. For the tractor's mobile device, ensure Primary Display is selected. Pairing a Remote display should only be done after the Primary display has been paired.
Tap Add Libra to add your new Libra Plant device to the app, and wait for the scan to finish.
Select your Libra Plant device from the list.
Provide a name for the equipment, select Equipment Type (Planter for planters, spreaders, drills, etc. or Tender for seed tenders), choose the desired weight display format (e.g. 10 lb, 20 lb), and tap Add+ to finish.
Your device will now appear under "Libra Equipment" with a check mark, indicating successful pairing.

The remote display feature enables an unlimited number of users to monitor live weights while within the range of the Libra Plant device. While in this mode, planting data can be processed and viewed only when the Pro version of the cloud service is used and the device is connected to the internet. Remote displays operate only while the primary display is connected.

Finding Load Cell Ratings
All load cells used for a weight channel MUST have identical ratios of sensitivity to capacity (sensitivity/capacity). This is true if all load cells are of the same model and should be checked otherwise.
Using the calibration number from an existing indicator:
Find and note the calibration number of your existing indicator as the Rated Capacity (lb), and use 0.40 mV/V as the Sensitivity. Please consult the existing indicator's user manual for help retrieving the calibration number. Go to Storing Load Cell Ratings.
In all other cases:
Read and note the Sensitivity (Rated Output) and Rated Capacity (Rated Load) from any one load cell on each weight channel. Multiply the Rated Capacity by the TOTAL number of load cells connected to the weight channel.
Storing Load Cell Ratings
Ensure the Libra Plant device and app are paired and connected.
Ensure units (lb, kg) are set to those of the Rated Capacity found previously.
Select the Devices tab. Insure any used weight channels are set to "On." If only using one weight channel, ensure the unused channel is set to “Off.”
Enter the Sensitivity and Rated Capacity noted previously by tapping on the appropriate weight channel's blue Sensitivity or Capacity number, tap Next, then Save.
Tap the blue Calibration number. Enter the Calibration Factor as 1.0, if it's not set at 1.0 already, tap Next, then Save.
Select the Device tab, ensure the container is empty, Zero Scale and confirm.
Select the Display tab and tap Tare.
Apply a known weight (perhaps your body weight) to one of the channel's load cells, noting the displayed weight. Repeat with each remaining load cell. If the load cells agree and are roughly correct, you can now calibrate. If the load cells agree but are roughly half of that expected, double the Rated Capacity entered previously. If weights do not agree, check wiring and load cell orientation.
Plant - Calibration
This should be done after your Rated Capacity and Sensitivity Numbers have been entered. Click here for an article on setting your load cell ratings.
Ensure the Libra Plant device and app are paired and connected.
Ensure the equipment is empty and on level ground.
Select the Device tab and tap Zero Scale on the appropriate weight channel.
Tap Tare on the Display tab and then apply a known weight to the weight channel's container, noting the amount displayed (record as positive).
Select the Device tab, tap the desired weight channel's blue Calibration number and enter the known weight as the Certified Reading.
Enter the noted weight from the app's Display as the Libra Reading.
Tap Next to compute a new Calibration Factor. Tap Save to confirm Calibration.
If using both weight channels, repeat steps 3-7 for the other weight channel.
