To mount the Serial Link device, it is recommended that it be installed on the front of the grain cart with its connectors pointing sideways, preferably protected from direct exposure to the elements. Connect the Serial Link power cable to the device and the Serial Link Interface Cable from the device to the scoreboard. Secure any excess cable.
WARNING: Vehicle battery connection shall be in accordance with all vehicle safety instructions, including 4A SLOW ACTING protective fusing with minimum 20 AWG wiring.
Mobile Devices
The Serial Link is compatible with tablets and smartphones running the Libra Harvest, iFarm Cart, and Libra Feed apps on iOS 13 or newer and Android 9 or newer, with at least 2GB of RAM (Libra Feed is iOS-only). It is not compatible with the "Libra Cart Classic" or "iFarm Cart Classic" apps.
Agrimatics Products
Serial Link is compatible with all Libra Cart, J&M iFarm, and Libra Feed (previously TMR) hardware models.
Scoreboards
Serial Link is currently compatible with J905 Serial Communication Protocol displays.
Serial Link does not have its own app. All Serial Link pairing and options are handled through the Libra Harvest app.
Downloading the Libra Harvest App
Download the Libra Harvest app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store by searching for 'Libra Harvest' on your compatible mobile device.
App Updates
To view the current Libra Harvest app version, go to the More tab and then tap About. To update to the latest version of the Libra Harvest app, go to the Apple App Store or Google Play and update.
Pairing is done directly through the Libra Harvest app and NOT through the general smartphone/tablet Bluetooth settings.
If you have already paired a grain cart to your app:
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
Bring your mobile device to the Serial Link device and launch the Libra Harvest app.
Select the Settings tab inside the app. For the tractor's mobile device, ensure Primary Display is selected.
Tap the ⚙️ next to your grain cart.
Select your Serial Link device from the Available devices list, and ensure that your Libra Cart device is already selected.
Your device will now appear with a check mark, indicating successful pairing. Tap Done to complete pairing.
The LED on the device will start to flash twice and a link icon will appear above the "Clear" button on the Display tab if you have an active connection.
If you have not paired a grain cart to your app:
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
Bring your mobile device to the Libra Cart and Serial Link devices and launch the Libra Harvest app.
Select the Settings tab inside the app. For the tractor's mobile device, ensure Primary Display is selected.
Tap Add Grain Cart to add your new Libra Cart device to the app, and wait for the scan to finish.
Select your Libra Cart and Serial Link devices from the Available devices list.
Provide a name for the cart, choose the desired weight display format (e.g., 10 lb, 20 lb), and tap Add+ to finish.
Your device will now appear under "Grain Carts" with a check mark, indicating successful pairing.
The LED on the Serial Link will start to flash twice and a link icon will appear above the "Clear" button on the Display tab if you have an active connection.
Disconnecting a paired Serial Link
Navigate to the Settings tab
Tap the ⚙️ next to your grain cart
Under Selected Devices, find your Serial Link device and swipe left to delete the connection.
Tap done to confirm the disconnection.
Note: Your scoreboard will turn off when you close the Libra Harvest app or disconnect your Serial Link.

If you have already paired a mixer to your app:
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
Bring your mobile device to the Serial Link device and launch the Libra Feed app.
Select the Mixers tab inside the app. For the mixer's mobile device, ensure Primary Display is selected.
Tap the name of the desired mixer, then tap the Tap to Pair button under Scoreboard Device and wait for the scan to finish.
Once the scan has successfully completed, the LED on the device will start to flash twice and a link icon will appear above the "Clear" button on the Display tab if you have an active connection.
If you have not paired a mixer to your app:
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
Bring your mobile device to the Libra Feed and Serial Link devices and launch the Libra Feed app.
Select the Mixers tab inside the app. For the mixer's mobile device, ensure Primary Display is selected.
Tap the + sign in the top right to add your new Libra Feed device to the app, and wait for the scan to finish.
Once the scan is finished and your device has been successfully found; provide a name for the mixer and choose the desired weight display rounding (e.g., 10 lb, 20 lb).
After the mixer is paired, tap the Tap to Pair button under Scoreboard Device and wait for the scan to finish.
Once the scan has successfully completed, the LED on the Serial Link will start to flash twice and a link icon will appear in the bottom left corner on the Display tab if you have an active connection.
Disconnecting a paired Serial Link
Navigate to the Mixers tab
Tap the name of the mixer you wish to disconnect from.
Under Scoreboard Device, tap the "scoreboard Device Paired" message. This will bring up the option to pair a new device directly or delete the existing connection. To pair to a new Serial Link device, tap Pair New. To remove the current pairing, tap Delete.
Note: Your scoreboard will turn off when you close the Libra Feed app or disconnect your Serial Link.
Scoreboard Mode
The scoreboard's display mode can be configured in the Settings tab of the app.
Countdown - If a ration is being loaded or fed out, the display will show a weight countdown for the current ingredient/pen. This matches the usual behaviour displayed in the Libra Feed app. If a batch or feeding is not in progress it will display the total weight on the mixer.
Traditional - Display the total amount of feed in the mixer at all times.
View and edit your Serial Link device's settings from the Devices tab in the Libra Harvest app. Tap the Serial Link bar in the Settings tab to view details about your device.
Type
Sets what type of device the Serial Link is transmitting to.
Weight Unit
Sets the unit used to display weights on the LED display (lb or kg).
Display Rounding
Sets how the displayed weights are rounded (10 lb, 20 lb, etc.) on the LED display.
Ensure that a P0080 data cable is used for the Grain Harvest Weight Sharing (GWHS) feature via Serial Link. The P0060 cable, which is used for displaying weight on an LED scoreboard, will not transmit data to a John Deere display.

Connecting to GWHS
Ensure the Serial Link device is paired to your Libra Cart unit via the Libra Harvest app.
Once Libra Cart and Serial Link are paired and connected, navigate to the Devices tab.
Under the Serial Link menu, set the Type option to Data.
Ensure that the Serial Link display units option is set to desired weight unit.
Plug the P0080 cable to the data port inside tractor cab.

Just as the Libra Harvest app can be updated through the App Store, the software that runs on the Serial Link device (firmware) can be updated as well.
To check the availability of new firmware for the device:
Navigate to the Devices tab in the Libra Harvest app.
Tap the Serial Link Bar to view details about your Serial Link device.
Tap Firmware Version while connected and close to the Serial Link device. If a new version is available, the app will guide you through the update process. The Restore Device will reset the firmware to its factory settings.
